Dry Cleaning made their name the old fashioned way with a run of critically acclaimed singles and EPs long before dropping an album, and even they’ve graduated to two critically acclaimed full-lengths, they still love the abbreviated formats.
Earlier this week, they announced they were coming out with a new extended play in the Swampy EP and offered up the title track as a preview. It’s actually kind of the main course, though, since the also-released second track is a two-minute instrumental and the balance of the EP – coming March 1 on digital platforms and $20 cassette tape if you’re utterly insane – is two remixes and a demo. Though the demo is a heretofore unreleased track, so maybe it’s worth anticipating?
Anyways, the press release for the two new tunes is as follows:
These two songs were recorded in the Stumpwork sessions and they feel like good companions to us. They share a dusty, desolate and spacey atmosphere. On the eve of this release we have been touring through the southwest USA, where these songs feel at home in the arid, Mars-like landscape of the Arizona desert.
