If Italian trio Be Forest are no longer – a reasonable thing to infer from the fact that their socials have been quiet since 2021 – they leave behind three solid records released over a decade, the most recent of which, 2019’s Knockturne, is as fine an example of icily atmospheric post-punk as you’ll find in recent years.
I’ll share with you not one of those three albums, however, but their session for Audiotree, available both as to watch and as a digital album, recorded in March 2019 in Chicago when they were on these shores for some US touring around SXSW.
There’s no reinvention of the wheel, here, but it’s an elegant and sumptuous wheel nonetheless.
