alphabet – “Artificial Light”

Brighton relocated to London newcomers alphabet are just three songs into their career, but have already made some noteworthy fans such as Fontaines D.C. and Shame. And they are definitely RIYL for fans of that modern flavour of post-punk, though they go back to the old school for the foundation, adding a healthy dollop of goth dourness and dreampop shimmer with the co-ed lead vocals.

“Artificial Light” was their first single, released back in September, and it’s the only only one so far with either a video or decently-shot live version, so start there and continue on through the whole 11 minutes of their discography (to date). It’s worth your time.
