Gleaming synth-pop isn’t necessarily the first thing you associate with Christmas music, but Ladytron have elected to wrap up an eventful year – one that saw them release another excellent album in Time’s Arrow as well as lose a founding member in Reuben Wu – with a new holiday tune. They describe it as:

Cut from the same cloth as their acclaimed 2023 album ‘Time’s Arrow’, gorgeously adorned with their trademark analogue synths, and sleigh bells riding a wintery wall of sound, “All Over By Xmas” is a majestic glam stomp, in the festive tradition of ‘Stop the Cavalry’ and ‘Pipes of Peace’.

It’s not a crucial addition to their discography by any means, but is a nice little gift from a band that sometimes goes frustratingly long without releasing new music.
