Maybe this takes the prize for fastest turnaround of a complete live set. Slowdive are currently touring Europe in support of everything is alive, and here’s a recording of last week’s show in Paris at La Cigale.
The recording by Unartig is an interesting balance of professional and amateur. There’s multiple cameras going on but they’re all pretty shaky, and the sound quality – while quite decent – is certainly not soundboard-sourced. But if you need a live Slowdive fix and don’t live in Europe, you could do a lot worse.
And while I’m rounding up recent Slowdive bits, Neil put in an appearance on the Kyle Meredith With… podcast last week.
And Crack had a short piece written by Neil about some musical revelations he had in the days post-Slowdive, pre-Mojave 3:
They’d always ask what I did. I’d reply, “Well, I’m sort of a musician.” Inevitably, someone would hand me a guitar. That’s when I realised that I couldn’t play guitar.
