Kurayamisaka – “Jitensha”

Kurayamisaka – “Jitensha”

I know I just posted a song by Kurayamisaka a week and a half ago, but they literally released this new song the next day… and I didn’t have anything else ready for today, so why not one of the top earworms of the last while?. Any fears the band were getting too gentle over their last few releases are answered emphatically with the Dino Jr vibes of this new song, the title of which simply translates to “Bicycle”.

I’m still not sure what their strategy for releasing music is. This song shares the anime-style artwork with last year’s “Evergreen”/”Modify Youth” digital single, but “ハイウェイ”, released last month, is decidedly different. And the new song is not on their Bandcamp or their own YouTube channel, but is on streaming services and YouTube courtesy their label Tomoran. Are they previewing a new record? Just releasing songs piecemeal as they please? Who knows, any of the above would be fine. But whatever they’re doing I do hope another pressing of kimi wo omotte iru is also in the cards.
