Whitelands – “Cheer”

Whitelands opened up the year with the best shoegaze debuts of the year in Night-Bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day, and clearly cognizant of the fact that time moves fast and memories are short, they’ve just released a new non-album single to remind you that their lush dreampop is some kind of delicious.

Regarding the accompanying video, they band say it was created:

with some video footage edited by @innerstrings that we recorded on our tour with @slowdiveofficial! A really beautiful capsule on hotels and family guy re-runs, and admittedly a lot of fun :).

And further, the band are teasing some big news for next Tuesday, so who knows, maybe I’ll be back again in this space next week with more?

“Cheer” is not a new song, though. It appeared on their self-titled mini-album back in 2018 in a much rougher form.
