Almost a year ago I jetted across the ocean to Japan not just to see Hitsujibungaku live at Yokohama Arena, but that was certainly one of the highlights. This year, I’ve undertaken a similar trip – certainly not as far but possibly more perilous – to catch the Los Angeles date of their first-ever US tour on Sunday night. It should be completely different, in a room that holds 780 people versus 17,000, and where presumably I’ll be allowed to take some pictures without being scolded with the universal finger “X”.

And so here’s the video for the lead single from their 2020 EP ざわめき; I acquired a copy – along with almost all their discography – cleaning out a Tower Records in an Osaka shopping mall. Buying CDs in a record store in a mall! What year was this? What country was this?
