Barely a half year on from the release of her second album Soft Power, Amelia Murray – aka Fazerdaze – is already rolling out new music; quite a change from the years of silence following her first record, Morningside. The new song is “Motorway”, comes with a suitably vibey and grainy video, and she describes it as:
A feeling of being trapped between a city and a relationship, searching for home in both, but finding it in neither. It explores an enmeshment with familiarity; and the motorway becoming a symbol of that for me; repetitive, a loop to break out of, a false sense of freedom.

She also posted a new vlog where she gets real about some of the balls she was juggling as a wholly independent artist without management trying to put on a hometown show in Aukland and trying to suss out how to set up an Eventide H90 multi-effects pedal. Hopefully some of those concerns are mitigated by the just-announced plans to return to North America this Fall supporting Pixies and Spoon along with a few headlining dates around those, but nothing north of the border, unfortunately.
