Not a lot of time at the moment so will just post up a track that’s been sitting in the queue for a while. Utero is the project of a Hokkaido native Rin Yumegiwa whose background, in addition to being a musician, includes work as “a nurse, idol, and IT engineer”. She was part of the “strange pop” idol group yumegiwa last girl where apparently her group position was “in charge of shoegaze” so when she left the group to go solo, odds of it being interesting were good.
She has released a single EP – For You On Sleepless Nights – in 2022 and a couple follow-up singles in 2023. She has had some choice collaborators on her work, with Parannoul appearing on “Space”, off of said EP, and For Tracy Hyde/AprilBlue guitarist/songwriter Asuza Suga and AprilBlue bassist Yuki Muraoka playing on this one, 「虜」, or “torico”, which translates to “Captive” or “Prisoner”.
The song is described as:
Returning to her origins in dream pop and shoegaze, “torico” attempts to capture the feeling of sinking into an endless (ocean/body of water), creating an emotional roaring sound of transparency and fragility.

So that’s what that’s about. And there’s a video!
