I thought maybe something was lost in translation when I saw the title of Kurayamisaka’s sneak-released first live album kurayamisaka tte, doko? #6「くらやみざかより愛を込めてツアー」（kawasaki CLUB CITTA’), which dropped this morning with just a day’s advance warning. But no, the whole proper title of the release is as provided and translates to Kurayamisaka tte, doko? #6 ‘With Love from Kurayamisaka Tour'” held at Kanagawa CLUB CITTA’ . But at least it’s fully descriptive – the recording is a complete document of the sixth and final show of their one-man tour last Fall in support of their debut album kurayamisaka yori ai wo komete and was held at Club Citta in Kanagawa in November 2025.

And as live albums go, it’s a banger. The band’s live prowess is legendary, but the recording quality is professional and phenomenal – obviously this was always intended for release – and if not for the audience reactions between songs, I’d believe it was a studio recording live off the floor. It clocks in at 17 songs – which is one less than their entire recorded catalog – and is on all streaming services. But for embeddables, there’s a playlist that comes with video of the show of both “kurayamisaka yori ai wo komete” and “Modify Youth”, again professionally shot and edited. One can only hope the other 15 songs get the same treatment and are released at some point.
