Yesterday brought the first appreciable snowfall of the season here in Toronto, and while it’s actually rolling over into Summer down in New Zealand, Fazerdaze’s Amelia Murray must have known. Why else would she choose the day to release the new video for “Winter”, taken from last month’s comeback EP Break!? Or maybe she knew because New Zealand exists, like, twelve hours in the future and they’ve got a head start on everything.

There’s not much to the clip – it’s just Murray lip-synching the song and exulting in some ’90s trip-hop vibes as she wanders around Christchurch (presumably) with a transparent umbrella. Which maybe is all you need to handle winter in New Zealand.

It occurs to me I don’t really know a lot about New Zealand.
