Wrapping up the week’s theme of shoegaze veterans still doing something new, we have Miki Berenyi, former frontwoman of Lush, announcing her first album with Miki Berenyi Trio – Tripla will be out April 4. MB3 evolved out her previous post-Lush band Piroshka due to as touring demands and lineup changes, and now comprises herself, KJ McKillop (Moose), and Oliver Cherer. And drum machines.
“8th Deadly Sin” is the second preview track from the album, following “Vertigo”, which dropped last May. Of the song, Berenyi says:
Simon Raymonde instantly picked this out as a single, and it immediately went down a storm when we played it live. While I can’t claim to lecture on green credentials, the song speaks to humanity’s broader self-destructive tendencies—whether it’s environmental, social, or political.
