Boston’s Sweeping Promises made a lot of noise with their debut Hunger For A Way Out last Summer, its combination of post-punk nerviness, strong pop hooks, and old-school, lo-fi college rock hitting a lot of peoples’ sweet spot. If you weren’t one of those won over by it, you probably just didn’t hear the record’s title track and lead single because it’s irresistible.
Also old-school is almost all the press the band has done has been on the blog/zine/radio station level.
