She’s Green – “Figurines”

She’s Green – “Figurines”

You might say that Minneapolis’ She’s Green are having a pretty good 2025. They just wrapped one North American tour supporting Glixen and will set out on another with Softcult next month, and are certainly making the most of their Canadian work visas. That’s a lot of road time for a band whose only release is almost two years old.

But I’d expect that to change soon as they’ve just released their second new song of the year, “Figurines”, following up on February’s “Graze”, and surely there’s more to come? It’s another lush and yearning study in shoegaze that further affirms the band as one of America’s finest new bands in the genre, particularly if you – like me – lean towards the shimmering end of things rather than the crushing, though “Figurines” absolutely covers both ends of the spectrum.

Of the song and video, the band say:

In the setting of someone finding themselves lost at a crossroads, ‘Figurines’ depicts the distressful feelings of adolescent self-discovery,” she’s green says. “The emblem of a figurine embodies eerily familiar images of adolescence, forgotten memories that resurface with newfound significance in adulthood.

And they just posted a behind-the-scenes post on their Instagram:

Austin student radio station KVRX has an interview with the band from when the Glixen tour came through town:
