Long-time followers of Minneapolis’ She’s Green – that’d include me – probably noticed that their recent sets supporting Chapterhouse between Slide Away appearances – including Toronto a couple weeks back – opened with a new song. That song – “Close Your Eyes” was just released as their new official single with accompanying video, as an epic-length teaser from their forthcoming Swallowtail EP, due out July 10. It comes with the following commentary from frontwoman Zofia Smith:
‘close your eyes’ is about a mysterious person who kept recurring in my dreams. In those dreams, we shared a life together by the ocean. Waking up and realizing they weren’t real left a lasting impression on me, leaving me wondering about our connection to our dreams, how my mind could have created this person, or if I knew them in a past life.

With some added history via IG:
this is the oldest and longest song on the record, we’ve been working on it for almost 3 years so it’s very special to us.

The band did a quick introductory interview with DIY recently, where they reflected on their recent North American tour, look forward to performing at Reading and Leeds in the UK this Summer, and describe themselves in a haiku:
