It feels like Men I Trust have been touring Untourable Album non-stop since it came out over three years ago – and why not? The stages they’re offered just keep getting bigger and though I saw them last at the very start of that run, there’s no reason to think they haven’t just gotten better and better.
So given their work ethic, it’s probably remarkable that they’ve managed to write and record new material but “Husk”, which came out this past Tuesday, is actually their fifth single since Untourable was released – that’s almost half an album right there? Like the others, it arrived without any kind of context or statement, so whether or not these are part of a larger statement or just dispatches from the road, “Husk” is smooth and shimmering and jazzy and dreamy and pretty much peak MIT. Let’s just enjoy.
Update: And now there’s a video:
Here’s a music video for “Husk”! It’s made of footage captured from the last two years spent on the road doing headline shows, festivals and support shows across the world. Thank you to everyone who came to see us play live, we’re so lucky to have you. Rock on
