Hello! Have barely gotten out of the holidays with my head intact – holidays when you have a small child are not really holidays at all – so very little bandwidth for content. But I wanted to welcome the new year with something, so here’s an interview of dubious production value but interesting content from Skinny E Media, talking to Andy Sherriff of Chapterhouse – or just his chin – about the making of their debut album, Whirlpool. There’s some good recollections and info from Sherriff about the record and the early shoegaze scene in general, if you can get around the interviewer’s rather awkward and occasionally under-informed side of things.
I’d though I’d already done posts on all the official videos from the album, but as Sherriff points out there’s one more for the Robin Guthrie-produced album closer “Something More” and it’s the only one the band don’t find embaressing so, to go along with the interview, here’s that clip.
