Just Mustard – “Endless Deathless”

Just Mustard – “Endless Deathless”

We’re still a couple weeks out from Just Mustard dropping album number three, WE WERE JUST HERE, and the band has released their third preview of the new record with maybe the most pop-aligned song of their oeuvre yet… at least as pop as guitars that alternately sound like clouds of razor blades and humpback whales can be. But singer Katie Ball’s vocals and melodies are some of the prettiest she’s put to tape, and the barrelling drums are hard to resist, compelling you to get on the dance floor and dance really awkwardly.

And that was the intention. Says Ball:

I wrote the lyrics for this song by imagining myself on a dancefloor. We wanted to write more songs that suited places like that. I suppose I would describe it as an existential love song, but you can hear it and feel it any way you like.

The 2025 album release calendar is into its home stretch, but if Just Mustard wasn’t on the “most anticipated” list before, they certainly are now.
