Nagoya’s Blurred City Lights are clearly continuing the run-up to their third record – you don’t get new band photos just for fun – but their second new single of the years isn’t spilling tea just yet. 「‪Voyage」follows 「月光」, which came out back in April, and continues to showcase a bigger-sounding band than debuted on their 2024 debut 天使のいない街で, which is impressive considering they still insist on keeping all aspects of the band – musical and otherwise – entirely in-house. Anyone who’s bought copies of their CDs can attest to the very handmade nature of the product.

「‪Voyage」is a melancholic piece that pushes Nanase Kamiya’s vocals and piano to the fore before bringing in the rest of the band in a crescendo that pushes things over the top. Not sure if they were hoping to have that visually represented in the accompanying video, because that early morning beachside walk is some serene stuff.
