Last year, The Cure managed the remarkable feat of staging a world tour in support of an album that hadn’t been and still hasn’t been released. It wrapped in South America with an itinerary that included headlining slots at four Primavera Sound festivals, including Buenos Aires, Argentina in late November and São Paolo, Brazil in early December.
Both these shows were broadcast on local streaming services – DirecTV in Argentina and Globoplay in Brazil – and through the wonder of technology, we now have five hours of professionally-shot Cure shows less than three months old, available to watch at our leisure. What a (lost) world.
