The year of Wet Leg continues, as the duo are wrapping an Australian tour and will come straight back to North America for a short North American run – their Toronto club debut sandwiched between major festivals – before more fests in Europe and back to North America for more shows through October, then back to Europe and the UK, and then back to the US until December. Which is absolutely bananas, but also raises the question – what are Rhian and Hester playing?

Their gear circa recording their debut has been documented and by the time they were on the road this Spring, they had switched to a couple of Fender Noventas – which were still in hand as recently as this week, as evidenced by this video session with Australias’s Triple J radio.

But in a recent video session for Fender they were sporting a couple new axes from the Player Plus series – a green Stratocaster and a sunburst Meteora. In addition to showing off some pretty guitars, the three-song performance video – which has pretty impressive production values and b-roll, to say nothing of costume changes – intercuts some interviews with the band, which Guitar World has helpfully transcribed:

I didn’t play guitar before this band, I used to play keyboard. Playing in this band with Hester, I’d be like, ‘My fingers really hurt, I can’t do it, I can’t play guitar.’

Hester would be like, ‘No, you’ve got this!’ I also feel a more powerful version of myself.
