Sometimes simply Googling the name of an artist and “complete show” can be surprisingly fruitful. There’s not a ton of high quality live I Break Horses footage out there, since Maria Lindén and company aren’t exactly road warriors, but this recording of their performance at the Refinery Gallery in Bratisalva, Slovakia in April 2014 as part of the Electronic Beats Festival looks and sounds spectacular, even if it’s only three songs of their (presumably) longer set. It was in support of their second album, Chiaroscuro, released in January of that year; I saw them less than two weeks later in Toronto at The Drake Underground.
The band obviously did not tour behind 2020’s Warnings, released in the early days of the COVID pandemic, and have been pretty quiet on socials since then. Not atypical for them between records, so I’m going to try not to read much into the fact that their domain name is up for sale…
