Though they’ve been on tour for the better part of the back half of this year, we haven’t seen a lot of recent studio sessions from Slowdive yet – at least not at the pace that we’ve seen from past tours.
Hopefully this one from New Zealand’s 95bFM will be the start of at least a few. It was recorded on July 26 of this year at Roundhoues Studios in Auckland before their show at Powerstation that evening. It’s a four-song set that, given the timing, doesn’t include any Everything Is Alive songs save lead single “Kisses”, but instead offer intimate renditions of “Avalyn I”, “Catch The Breeze”, and “Sugar For The Pill”. How often do Souvlaki stans get to feel left out?
