Just back from Los Angeles last night, so while I get reacclimatized to EDT and a not having the option of tacos for every meal, let’s say hi – again – to one of LA’s finest current shoegaze bands, Mo Dotti. After selling out of their initial run of last year’s Opaque following the endless accolades, they’ve got another run of it on vinyl as well as wax of 2023’s Blurring/Guided Imagery, which compiled a couple of earlier EPs.

In conversation with First Revival earlier this year, they said of the earlier releases:

Blurring is sort of ramshackled together (the songs were all recorded by different people). The second EP, Guided Imagery, was more cohesive production-wise. I will say that the EPs are only EPs because we ran out of time recording and then COVID happened. Although the process was interrupted, we are sort of happy with how it worked out because we were able to have two releases instead of one.
