I did my deep dive into the many vocalists of Tokyo Shoegazer last month because, as of the day of the release of their latest album Remains, they hadn’t released so much as an advance track, never mind a promotional video, for me to hang a lazy post on.

Turns out that clip was running just a little behind, as they dropped the official video for『Missing』last week, and it’s a slickly produced studio performance clip with lots of grainy double- and triple-exposure shots and enough close ups of azzmaster pickups to make Kevin Shields nostalgic.

And while we’re on the topic, there’s an interview with the band at Hong Kong music site Bloody Mary in advance of the final date of their Asian tour this weekend. Yes it’s in Chinese, but that’s why we have translation extensions, right? It covers the usual bases – their timeline, their affection for cats, etc – but there’s one question about their rotating microphone so I’ll go ahead and add the pullquote to my other post.
