Siouxsie & The Banshees – “Halloween”

File this under “obvious” as we go into Hallowe’en weekend with this contribution from Siouxsie & The Banshees. Despite being a standout track on 1981’s Juju – an album full of them – “Halloween” wasn’t a single and as such, there’s no official video to share. Instead, we’ve got audio from the original album:

As well as from their 2009 At The BBC compilation; this came from their fourth John Peel session, recorded on October 2, 1981:

And there is video content – this performance from Warwickshire, England in March 1981 was recorded for the BBC series Rock Goes To College and appeared on the DVD included with the aforementioned At The BBC set.

And this clip comes from their July, 1981 performance in Cologne, Germany, which was recorded for Rockpalast:

And finally, a guitar lesson of the song from anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk, though being shown how to play that arpeggiated verse chord is definitely not the same thing as being able to play it. I’ll file it alongside “Purple Rain” as chords that I will grudgingly accept can be played by mortals, but I will never be able to pull off. But I’m okay with that.
