The House of Love – “Crush Me”

The House of Love – “Crush Me”

A State Of Grace, the first new record from The House of Love in nine years, arrives this Friday so let’s go back to one of the more under-appreciated of their wholly under-appreciated discography. Most of the praise is given to either one of the first two self-titled albums, colloquially called Creation or Fontana, for the label that released them. But their third record Babe Rainbow is just as strong a collection of songs, but perhaps not as celebrated because it didn’t feature the guitar wizardry of Terry Bickers.

“Crush Me” was the fourth single from the record, released in November of 1992, and features a characteristically moody – which is to say blurry and hazy – black-and-white promo clip.
