Ladytron – “International Dateline”

Ladytron – “International Dateline”

Today is Ladytron day, with the band’s seventh album Time’s Arrow hitting stores and streaming, but amidst the rollout of the new record – including a second video for “Faces”, following “City Of Angels” in October, they found the time to add the clip for “International Dateline”, from 2005’s The Witching Hour, to their YouTube channel. Perhaps acknowledging the similarities between the two clips? Perhaps just wanting to remind fans like myself who hadn’t seen the video before that it exists? If so… thank you.

And since we’re here, here’s the audio for an alternate version taken from their Harmonium Sessions, which while not electricity-free is probably as unplugged as the band gets.

And then there’s this live session from the Witching Hour era – unknown place and outlet – but it’s always strange to see them on stringed instruments.

  1. Couldn’t help noticing early in this last clip, as the digital clock ticks away behind Reuben Wu, the numbers 604 jump out just before it cuts away. Yes, these are the things that amuse me.
