Toronto’s Otsyuda have been making a name for themselves both as one of the city’s promising new shoegaze/dreampop acts and as an international supergroup of sorts – their collective resume including Russia’s Blankenberge, Colombia’s Encarta 98 and TALES, and Canada’s Group Therapy.

Following a couple of singles last year, the band have readied their debut album Fin for release sometime before the end of the month, which basically means August 28 – just in time for their release show the next day at The Baby G. To celebrate, they’ve released a preview track and video of the band – less keyboardist Sireena Divecha who recently left – wandering the streets of Toronto’s Chinatown. I remember seeing them perform this track when Sireena Divecha and it was a standout of the set; if it’s indicative of the quality of Fin, I’m pretty excited for the record.
