Going with Siouxsie & The Banshees on Hallowe’en is obviously some kind of low hanging fruit but I have absolutely no problem with that. Especially when it means I get to post this entire 1981 concert from Köln, West Germany, filmed for the Rockpalast television series which has been a fantastic post-punk archive.

The show was in July 1981 at Satory Saal, shortly after their landmark album Juju came out so naturally it is very present in the set list. Yes, including “Hallowe’en”. The video hasn’t had the benefit of an HD remaster glow up but is pretty good for having come from a dusty VHS tape somewhere, and the audio is also quite good for the vintage. Good enough to have been bootlegged, at least. And there’s plenty of John McGeoch, which is crucial.
