Given that she is basically the patron saint of much of what this site is about, I’d be remiss to not give ink to the return of Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser to the world of recorded music. Her new project Sun’s Signature is a collaboration with partner and percussionist Damon Reece, whose own resume includes Reverberation-era Echo & The Bunnymen and Spiritualized.
Their debut comes in the form of a self-titled EP that will be released as part of the June 18 drop for Record Store Day, with digital release to follow in July. Given that some of these songs have been around since the end of Cocteau Twins, it’s probably best not to ask “is there more”, rather just appreciate that it is, and luxuriate in the return of that voice.
The band released the first track from the EP yesterday.
