Having spent the time since the release of their debut album 27℃ last Summer touring, touring, and more touring (all in Asia of course), Hammer Head Shark have finally taken the time to release their first new music of 2026. 『ぼくらふたりきり』dropped as a single back in June, almost a year to the day from aforementioned album’s release, but they only got around to releasing the accompanying video for it a couple weeks ago.
Translated to “Just The Two Of Us”, it’s a typically excellent tune that leans into the band’s more emotive and epic side. Of it, singer-guitarist Hiyu Nagai says:
時間から取り残されたような身体、とても大きな景色、そのふたつで世界からこぼれそうな記憶を静かに眺めてる。愛おしい痛みだった。
触れないものと光で繋がっている、自分と世界のうた。(a body seemingly left behind by time, a vast landscape, and with these two things, we quietly gaze upon memories that seem to be spilling out of the world. It was a pain I cherished. A song of myself and the world, connected by light to things that cannot be touched.)
